I have been active in the district for 25 years with UNM.

I am from ABQ. After college, I moved to the University neighborhood. I seek to listen and be a voice for our community. I am fond of my family and we promote our local schools and parents’ rights.
Supporting Educators
I am married and my five children attend Albuquerque Public Schools. I promote early education and early literacy with the Libros and Read to Me Network.
Experience
At UNM, our coalition passed the Tobacco-Free Campus. I am in favor of term limits, government transparency and accountability through integrity. Our neighborhoods must be safe and welcoming. We lobbied and won University License Plates.

I have known Juan for many years and fully support his candidacy. Among the many reasons why is this: Whenever work needs to be done at a school or community event, Juan and his family show up – every time – and volunteer, without fuss or complaint, to get the job done. We need elected officials who have that trait, which is all too rare among lawmakers these days. But Juan has it. That’s one of the reasons why I know he will serve his constituents well in the years to come!
